Privacy Policy
Plain-language details on the personal information AutoGuideCover handles, why we handle it, who receives it, and the controls you have.
The short version: when you ask us for car insurance options, we collect what you enter on our form plus some technical data from your browser. With your permission, we pass your request to insurance companies, licensed agents and other partners so they can contact you, and we may be paid for doing so. You can opt out of the sale or sharing of your data, ask to see or delete it, and stop calls, texts and emails whenever you like.
Scope of this policy
This Privacy Policy describes the practices of AutoGuideCover ("AutoGuideCover," "we," "our" or "us") with respect to personal information collected through the website at autoguidecover.com, its forms and pages, and any related emails, texts or calls (together, the "Services").
AutoGuideCover provides a free online service that helps consumers in the United States learn about auto insurance and request to be connected with insurance providers. We are not an insurer, insurance agency or insurance broker.
This policy does not govern information that insurance companies, agents or other third parties collect from you directly, including after they contact you. Their handling of your information is subject to their own privacy notices.

What we receive from others
We may obtain information about you from advertising networks and publishers that referred you to us, identity and phone-number verification services, fraud-prevention providers, our business partners and public sources. We may combine it with information we already hold.
How we use personal information
- Delivering the Services: processing your request and identifying insurance providers and partners that may be able to offer coverage.
- Connecting you with partners: sending your request to the insurance providers and marketing partners described below, consistent with your consent.

We may also use information in de-identified or aggregated form that can no longer reasonably be linked to you.
Who receives personal information
| Recipient | Why they receive it |
|---|---|
| Insurance partners: insurance carriers, licensed agents and brokers, and lead and marketing companies that work with them | To review your request and contact you with insurance quotes and products. Each partner uses your information under its own privacy policy. |
| Vendors and service providers | Hosting, analytics, email and SMS delivery, call handling, consent recording, identity verification and fraud prevention, performed on our behalf. |
| Advertising and analytics companies | To measure visits and conversions and to show ads for the Services, including through cookies, pixels and similar tools. |

| Successors | As part of a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization or sale of assets, subject to this policy. |
Under certain state privacy laws, disclosing your request to insurance partners in exchange for payment may be a "sale" of personal information, and allowing advertising companies to collect data on our site may be "sharing" or "targeted advertising." You can opt out of these activities as explained in Privacy rights below.
Calls, texts and emails
If you agree on our form, AutoGuideCover and its insurance partners may contact you by phone and text message, including using automated technology and prerecorded or artificial voice messages. Agreeing is never a condition of purchase. Full details are on our Communications Consent page.
To stop: reply STOP to any text, tell any caller to stop calling, use the unsubscribe link in any email, or contact us at [email protected]. Partners keep their own contact lists, so you may also need to ask a partner directly to stop contacting you.
Browser signals
Global Privacy Control. Where state law requires it, we honor the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal as an opt-out of the sale and sharing of personal information collected from that browser.
Do Not Track. Because there is no agreed standard for "Do Not Track" signals, we do not respond to them, other than as described above for GPC.
