What opting out does

We share quote requests with insurance partners and may be paid for it, and we let advertising companies place cookies on our site. Some state laws call these activities a "sale" or "sharing" of personal information, or "targeted advertising."

Once you opt out, we stop selling and sharing your personal information from that point forward. Where the law requires, we will also tell the third parties we sold or shared it with in the previous 90 days. Opting out does not stop us from sending your request to a provider you specifically ask us to connect you with.

Automatic opt-out with GPC

If your browser or extension sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we treat it as an opt-out of sale and sharing for that browser where required by law. The signal works per browser and device, so turn it on wherever you browse.

Other rights

Depending on your state, you may also be able to access, correct, delete or get a portable copy of your information, limit the use of sensitive information, and appeal our decision on your request. We will never treat you differently for using these rights. The Privacy rights section of our Privacy Policy explains each one.

Identity checks and agents

We don't need to verify your identity to process an opt-out, though we may ask for details to locate your records. For access, deletion and correction requests, we match the information you provide with what we hold. If an authorized agent submits a request for you, we may require your signed permission and ask you to confirm your identity with us directly.
