Communications Consent
When you ask for car insurance options, you can choose to let us and our partners contact you. Here is exactly what that means and how to change your mind.
The wording you agree to
Our quote request form includes a checkbox with the following statement. Checking the box and pressing "See my options" is your electronic signature:
"By ticking this box and pressing 'See my options,' I agree to the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy, and I give my prior express written consent to be contacted by AutoGuideCover and its insurance partners (insurance carriers, licensed agents and brokers, and the marketing companies they work with) about auto and other insurance products at the phone number and email address above. Contact may include calls and text messages placed with automated dialing technology and artificial or prerecorded voices, even if my number is on a Do Not Call list. My consent is not required to make any purchase. Message frequency varies; message and data rates may apply. Text STOP to cancel or HELP for help. I can withdraw consent at any time."
We store a record of your agreement, including the text displayed, the time and date, and technical information about the submission, so that we and our partners can show that consent was given.
You don't have to agree to buy
Giving consent is never required to purchase insurance or any other product. If you would prefer not to be contacted this way, do not check the box. You can still contact insurers directly or call us at (614) 555-0182 for general help.
Insurance partners
Depending on your ZIP code, your answers and who is available when you submit your request, your information may go to one or more partners from these groups:
- Insurance companies that underwrite personal auto, home, renters and related policies;
- Licensed independent and captive insurance agents and agencies;
- Licensed insurance brokers;
- Insurance comparison, marketing and lead-generation companies that work with the groups above; and
- Call centers and messaging vendors acting for any of them.
To request the current list of partners that may receive consumer requests, email [email protected] with "Partner list" in the subject line.
Calls and texts you may receive
- Phone calls about your request, which may be placed with an automatic dialing system or include artificial or prerecorded voice messages.
- Text messages with updates on your request and insurance offers. How often you receive them varies. Standard message and data rates from your wireless carrier may apply. Wireless carriers are not responsible for delayed or undelivered messages.
- Emails about your request and related insurance offers. Every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link.
Calls and texts are placed only during hours allowed by federal and state law in your time zone, generally 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. unless your state sets narrower hours.
Withdrawing consent
You may revoke consent at any time, using any reasonable method, including:
- replying STOP, END, CANCEL, QUIT, UNSUBSCRIBE, REVOKE or OPT OUT to any text message;
- telling the person who calls you that you no longer want to be contacted;
- using the opt-out option in a prerecorded message;
- clicking "unsubscribe" in any email; or
- emailing [email protected] or calling (614) 555-0182 with the phone number and email address to be removed.
We process revocations promptly and within the time the law requires. Text HELP for help at any time. Because partners maintain their own lists, please also ask any partner who has contacted you to stop.
Do Not Call lists
We keep an internal Do Not Call list and honor requests to be added to it. By giving consent, you authorize contact even if your number is on the National Do Not Call Registry or a state list. You can cancel that authorization at any time as described above.
Your phone number
Only enter a phone number that you own or regularly use. If you get a message meant for someone else, or you give up your number, let us know so we can update our records.
